Tucson Area Hotels
The Conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel at Reid Park, 445 S. Alvernon Way, Tucson, Arizona 85711. The guaranteed nightly rate for our conference is $89.00 (plus taxes). Please be sure to mention that you are with the Calor97 group to assure receiving the group rate. You may call 1-800-222-TREE(8733) to make your reservations. You may also call the Doubletree at Reid Park directly at 1-520-881-4200, or you may fax them at 1-520-323-5225. Be sure to include complete name, address, telephone number, Calor97 reference, and credit card name, number, and expiration date with your fax. Here is a list of some of the alternate hotels you may wish to consider:
Transportation
Transportation from the airport to the hotels can be managed by taxi or the shuttle service in town, "Arizona Shuttle". The shuttle service has a station at the airport and requires no advance reservations. Taxi's are usually available at the curb outside the airport baggage pickup area. If a taxi is not avaialble one of the airport porters will help you get one.

Some of the airport hotels are less expensive. We have negotiating a reduced rate for our group which is noted by each hotel. If you will be staying at an Airport area hotel a rental car would be recommended to get to the Doubletree for the meetings each day.
In Town Hotels
These hotels are within walking distance (less than 1 mile) to the Doubletree hotel and negotiated rates are posted.
- Clarion Hotel, Randolf Park, 102 N., Alvernon Way, Tucson, Az (520) 795-0330. The University of Arizona rate is $59.00 (plus taxes). When making reservations by fax use 1 (520) 326-2111 and direct your request to the sales division to assure the University rate. The Clarion is located .56 miles north of the Doubletree.
- Lodge on the Desert, 306 N. Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ (520) 325-3366 or FAX to (520) 327-5834. The University of Arizona rate is $64.00 (plus taxes). Let the reservation clerk know you will be attending the Calor97 conference with the University of Arizona to assure the reduced University rate. This is a very quaint, southwestern inn and close to the Doubletree where the meetings will be held. The Lodge on the Desert is located .71 miles north of the Doubletree.
